How Much Does a Maternity Photoshoot Cost in Louisville?
A maternity photoshoot with me in Louisville starts with a $599 creative session retainer, and there is a $699 minimum investment toward your prints, album or digital images, so most moms should plan on a starting point of about $1,298. The retainer covers your whole experience, including makeup and lashes, dry hair styling, a gown from my client closet and a private reveal. If you book during your phone consultation or the same day you inquire, you save $200.
Price is almost always the second thing a mom-to-be asks me about, right after “when should I book?” And honestly, it should be. You are already budgeting for a crib, a car seat and a hundred tiny things nobody warned you about. So here is exactly how my maternity pricing works, what you are paying for, and how to make it fit, with no surprises waiting at the end.
How much does a maternity photoshoot cost in Louisville?
With me, a maternity session is two parts: a $599 non-refundable retainer to secure your date, and a $699 minimum investment in the finished pieces you choose at your reveal. Together that is a starting point of $1,298, and you can see the same figures on my maternity pricing page.
I split it this way on purpose. The retainer pays for the experience: my time planning with you, your hair and makeup, the shoot itself and the editing. The investment afterward goes toward the artwork you actually take home. You see every fully edited image before you spend a dollar on products, so you are choosing based on photos you already love, not guessing from a price list.
What does the $599 retainer include?
The retainer covers everything from our first phone call right through to your reveal appointment. Here is what that looks like:
- A personalized phone consultation where we talk through your vision, outfits and dates
- My pre-session style and prep guide, so you know what to bring and what to skip
- Professional makeup with lashes, plus a dry hair style, on the day of your session
- Access to my luxury client closet of maternity gowns
- Posing and direction from start to finish, so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands
- Professional editing of every final image
- A private in-person reveal and ordering appointment, or a Zoom reveal if that is easier
The gowns are the part moms get most excited about. Most of us do not have much in the closet that fits right now, let alone something we want to be photographed in. We choose from my closet together during your consultation, picking pieces that drape and flatter your bump, and if you have a favorite dress of your own we can plan around that too.

What does the $699 minimum investment cover?
The $699 minimum goes toward your prints, products and digital images, and it is applied at your reveal appointment. Prints, products and digital files are purchased separately from the retainer, so this is the part of your budget that turns into something you can hold or hang.
At your reveal you see your fully edited images for the first time, and we choose your favorites together. Some moms put everything into digital files. Others want an album to sit on the shelf in the nursery, or one big piece for above the bed. I help you figure out what fits your home and your budget, and you can go above the minimum if you fall in love with more than you planned, but you never have to.
How can I save $200 on my maternity session?
You save $200 when you book during your phone consultation or on the same day you first inquire. That is the simplest way to bring your total down, and it is why I suggest having your calendar and a couple of dates in mind before we talk.
Timing matters for another reason too. Most of my maternity sessions happen between 28 and 34 weeks, when your bump is round and you are still comfortable moving between poses. If you reach out in your second trimester, we have time to plan without rushing. I go deeper on this in my post on when to schedule your maternity photoshoot.

Is a maternity photoshoot worth the cost?
For most moms, yes, because those weeks of pregnancy go by fast and there is no going back to redo them. I have been doing this for about 10 years, and maternity is the session where that is most true: your bump only looks like this for a few short weeks.
A big part of the value is how the session feels, not only the final images. You get pampered, you get a gown that actually fits, and you get someone guiding every pose so you are not standing there feeling awkward. Whether we shoot in the soft light of my studio or out in a local park at golden hour, your comfort comes first. Partners and older siblings are welcome to join in for a few frames too.
How do I book my maternity session?
Booking starts with a quick phone consultation. We talk through your vision, wardrobe and styling, check my availability and lock in your date with the $599 retainer. If you want to see more of my work first, my maternity photography page has galleries and reviews from other moms.
I work with expecting families from Louisville, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews, Crestwood, La Grange and across the river in Jeffersonville and New Albany. When you are ready, send me a message and we will find a time to chat. I would love to hear about your little one on the way.
